Here She Is! Dawn Daniel: The Most Uplifting, Renaissance Woman of 2020

2020 has been a year of ups, downs, sharp turns, and unbelievable surprises. It is evident that the Coronavirus has temporarily changed our lives as we know it. Family celebrations, holidays, special events, and more have all been postponed until further notice. Schools all over the world have been closed without a re-open, and for essential workers, the work never stops. Now, is the perfect time to acknowledge the people in our lives who make us feel happy, worthy, and important.

Dawn is one of those people. Dawn Daniel, born April 30th, reminds us of what it means to be resilient, strong, and good at everything. An artist, a designer, a teacher, a hairstylist, a powerhouse singer – Mrs. Daniel has mastered it all. But most importantly, she is a godly woman, a phenomenal mother, a devoted wife, and a fantastic friend.

With all the ways Dawn uses her many, many, many talents to express her love for others, she has made it her mission to create beautiful experiences for her family and friends, in the midst of this trying time.

Although Hobby Lobby, her favorite crafts store has been temporarily closed, Mrs. Daniels continues to find more ways to be creative.

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic created some unforeseen challenges for Dawn and her family.

Due to the quarantine, Dawn was unable to attend her eldest son’s graduation from Navy Bootcamp. We all know social distancing can never stop a mother’s love, so she found other ways to support his accomplishments. The newly-ignited Navy mom went above and beyond to customize these shirts for her family to celebrate Sailor Daniel’s entry into the USN:

Outside on her lawn, Dawn also made sure to place her big celebratory, graduation signs for her son, Abrin Daniels, who is a soon-to-be a high-school graduate of 2020. Abrin was accepted into Georgia Southern University with an academic scholarship!!! Here’s a dedication towards all of his achievements and hard work:

The truth about Mrs. Daniel is that — everything about Dawn undeniably exudes good energy and love. Because her spirit is always joyful and upbeat, she inspires her loved ones to be their best and to always remain hopeful.

Because she always goes the extra mile and effortlessly strives to exceed expectations, she teaches us about the power of commitment and creativity.

She is the embodiment of purely, authentic superwoman power.

And long after the dust settles and the pandemic is no longer a threat to our health and freedom, Dawn Daniel will still be the kind-hearted, uplifting woman we all know and love.

P.S. My mom encouraged me to dedicate this article to you because you are truly magnificent, from my family to yours, we love you.

10 Eccentric Instagram Marketing Strategies

We live in the era of “how many followers do you have?’ Believe it or not, having a large following on Instagram can be used as leverage for free products, paid gigs. and cheap travel. Recently, my interest in Instagram has peaked because I am working on a couple of projects and a few business models (coming soon). We will be exploring my top ten marketing strategies for Instagram (most of them that I learned about this week).

1. Formulate a simple pattern and color scheme for your Instagram. Your picture can follow a similar structure of picture + video + quote or it can be all pictures, but you should still have a set design to follow for your Instagram. Currently, I am using ‘Buffer’ to plan all of the

pictures that will be posted on my new Instagram ‘ZariaamberLit’ in advance. Also, I suggest using the same two or three filters on all of your pictures and videos to keep your page in a homogeneous state.

2. Add a mixture of quotes, pictures, and videos on your page. Although people love structure, we also love variety as well. When you only post selfies or quotes, followers tend to perceive your page as dry. There’s not a lot of reason to follow someone who seems to post the same picture everyday, unless you know them.

3. Study your pictures and videos that get the most engagement and figure out “why?” The visual world of Instagram can be very shallow. Find out what it is about you that makes people go crazy with the double tap button. For me, it is my selfie game. When I take an up close & personal selfie of my face, people tend to go crazy. However, you also have a WOW factor that you probably have not noticed yet. It does not have to be physical because you could have the best memes, the best motivational videos, the best music, etc.

4. Turn on post notifications for the influencers you admire and would like to emulate on IG. As soon as they post a picture, make sure you comment something clever, funny or thoughtful on their page. DO NOT MARKET YOURSELF UNDER THEIR PAGE because its weird and annoying. Be natural and accentuate the best part of you.

5. Make sure your friends are commenting on your page and supporting you. If you have a business or trade that you are trying to market, let your friends know how important it is for their comments under your pictures.

6. Join an engagement group, matter of fact, join as many as you can. Some of us do not have the luxury of having amazing, supportive friends, so this is the solution for the loners and introverts. There is a downside to having so many engagement groups. You have to like and comment on pictures to receive, and a lot of times it can be very time consuming.

7. Ask your followers questions on your Instagram page and stories. Instagram stories are known for generating the most engagement amongst people because they have plenty of features — polls, questions, gifs, etc.

8. Be personal. Make your captions tell a story, respond to the people who speak to you, and initiate conversation. You have followers for a reason because they want to see who you are, how you think, and what you do. Take advantage of their interest, and use Instagram as a display for your most authentic self. We all want to be seen, and in this case, you are very well seen. Don’t fall into the trap of becoming whoever people want you to be. Be YOU, Be FREE, Be HONEST because people gone mess with you off of the strength of you being real.

9. Plug your Instagram every chance you get. Plug your business. Plug your talents. Plug your skills. Network. When you meet new people, exchange Instagrams over numbers, especially if they are millennial.

10. Last but not least, if you are selling a product, pay MICRO-influencers. Give freebies and PR packages to people who have a semi-large following with good engagement from their followers. If they have too many followers, they sometimes have less persuasion on their audience because they probably promote a lot of different products on their page.

In conclusion, if you want to make it on Instagram, you have to go hard but plan even harder!!!

How To Meditate For NEWBIES!

“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” – Lena Horne

Imagine going to the grocery store for your weekly supply. Do you walk straight into the store and grab things? No, you first grab a cart to make the groceries easier to carry. Then, after you have the cart, you proceed to load it with all of the heavy things you need for the week. When you’re finished, you go to the check out, and the cashier starts to bag all of your items up — making them a little bit easier to carry. You walk out of the store with a cart full of bagged groceries. Do you grab all of the bags out of the cart and decide to walk home? No, you place them in your trunk or the taxi’s trunk. When you get home, you try to grab all of the bags at one time, and you struggle immensely. Do you grab all the bags at once, with the risk of them falling everywhere? No, you call someone to help you carry those bags into the house. Once you’re in the house, you unpack your groceries and you disperse of the bags. This is life. In order to move freely, ask for help if needed and let the bags go.

  1. Find a comfortable position to align your body. It doesn’t matter if you sit or lie down, but you should make sure you’re able to breath comfortably.
  2. Relax! Don’t be physically stiff or mentally uptight. Free your mind and your body.
  3. Close your eyes and focus your mind on your breathing.
  4. Once you are confronted with a thought (negative or positive), acknowledge it and then refocus your attention back to your breathing.
  5. Release. Release any negativity or doubtful thoughts about yourself. When meditating, don’t focus on if you’re “doing it right”. JUST DO!
  6. Try a guided meditation. If you have trouble stopping the thoughts in your head, you can easily replace them with someone else’s. A guided meditation is led by another person; their purpose is to guide you to peace and serenity.

Benefits: Meditation is the process of being fully present and aware of yourself. You get to hear your inner thoughts in your mind’s calmest state, and should a negative thought appear, you are enabled with the ability to immediately release it.

Music: I recommend meditation music to increase productivity while doing any type of creative activity or insightful work. Confusingly, meditation music has also been a helpful too for stimulating sleepiness. This the beautiful thing about music, it has the power to match the energy you need.

Honorably Mentioned Apps: Insight Timer (the one I use), Calm, 10% Happier, and Meditation Studio.

When Depression Gets Real ❤

Recently, I posted a video on my YouTube discussing the depression I faced after losing four jobs back to back and being forced to take a semester off of school. Now that I am out of that slump, I am ready to talk.

*inserts favorite quote

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.” – Maya Angelou

First, stop telling people who are depressed to just stop being lazy and think happy!!!

This is real life, not sesame street. The sad thing about being depression is that nobody completely understands how it manifests within your body, mind, and soul. From the outside looking in, you are just a lazy person who keeps making excuses for yourself. However, there is so much more to the story because from the inside looking out, you are misunderstood, lonely, broken, sad, demotivated, bitter, unhappy, and most noticeable of all — stagnant. No BS, depression has the power to rob you of life even though you are still breathing.

By no means am I exaggerating. For me, depression manifested into ALL of my relationships. On one hand, I started moving away from my family because I felt like they were introducing me to MORE negativity, and I could only process how much was already inside of me. Yet, on the other hand, I was going out more with friends, drinking more, and “living the life.” “Living the life” basically means I was engaging in self-destructive behaviors such as drinking to much and going places where I didn’t belong. While I was at home, I could barely get out the bed to eat or shower. However, on the weekends, I had all the energy to go any and everywhere.

The mind and the heart are tricky. When you’re depressed, your mind tells you that you have failed and your heart keeps reminding you, over and over again, how bad it hurts.

However, I see pain differently and I can admit that sometimes I can overindulge in it. Crying has always been a super power of mines because after I cry there is always a hold on me that is released. Each time I cry my pain loses power, my reality becomes more clear, and my body slowly begins to heal it self. Also, I engage in powerful prayers. When I break down, I BREAK DOWN. There’s nothing cute about reaching your break point, but there is so much glory in defeating depression through intense prayer, manifestations, and faith.

Do what ever you have to do to feel better. Read self-help books, watch motivational videos,

listen to inspirational podcasts, and download a guided meditation app (meditations where someone talks you through the process of meditating). Also, remove anything or anyone that is bringing you down. If that is not possible, become so indulge with researching, reading, meditating your way out that you barely even have time to acknowledge their presence.

P.S. Do that thing that’s been giving you anxiety because you haven’t done it yet. One completed goal a day can take the pain away.

Love life!

5 Reasons Why Starting a YouTube Sucks!!

Disclaimer: I love YouTube and creating content!!!

  1. MONETIZING – Don’t do YouTube solely to monetize! Just don’t. YouTube has changed in so many ways over the year. In 2019, we live in the age of social media and things literally have to be different now. When I first fell in love with YouTube, I was 11 years old and obsessed with all the new dances that gained popularity through the early 2000’s. You know, dances like Crank Dat and the Stanky Leg. Back then, you had to have a talent or be somebody famous to get known on YouTube and especially monetize. It wasn’t until 2012, that YouTube decided to open its Youtube Partners Program to EVERYONE, yes EVERYONE. This means that pretty much anybody with a camera or a phone could place a video on YouTube and monetize. Fast forward, YouTube is oversaturated with content creators with no originality, and so in order to protect their craft, YouTube enforced stricter guidelines on monetization and copyright infringement. UPDATE: As a content creator, you need 4000 watch hours from viewers within an entire year, and a bare minimum of 1000 subscribers to monetize. Although, I have not reached this level of consistent viewers and subscribers, I still am thoroughly appreciative of the new standard because I enjoy quality over quantity.
  2. COPYCATS – It is no secret that every couple who falls in love, every girl that does makeup and fashion, every singer, rapper and/ or dancer, and every person with a yoga mat has a YouTube. Big shocker, but what’s even worse, is that nothing is ever real on YouTube!!! Like seriously, you don’t know if your favorite couple secretly hates each others guts. You don’t know if the fashion design is secretly getting all of her fashion ideas from fashion nova, in-store mannequin outfits, or another popular person’s Instagram. Even I must admit, when my boyfriend and I initially started YouTube, we fell into the rabbit hole of copy cat syndrome. Moving forward, I would like to encourage everyone to be more authentic on YouTube, so we can actually indulge in some worthwhile content. Also, most of the pranks are not real. Every time I attempt an elaborate prank it does not work out. Now, I could be wrong and subseqeuently be admitting that I suck, but some thing tells me I’m not.

P.S. If everything about your image on social media is a sham, do better and cut the mess.

3. OFFENDING PEOPLE – If you have foot in the mouth syndrome, then YouTube may not be the best place for you. I know it’s easy for some people to say “Just don’t be a jerk, just don’t be racist, just don’t be sexist…. just don’t be human and not know everything.” Honestly, I’m not making excuses for problematic people who do things that blatantly disrespect people of other cultures, colors, and creeds, but sometimes the people we cancel and crucify truly do not know. In some situations, its best to passionately educate and move on. With that being said, you might want to take a cultural sensitivity class before you speak on “controversial” topics in your videos because YouTube is almost as bad as “black twitter.”

4. COLLABORATIONS – A fun way to become more popular on YouTube and to create more interesting content is by collaborating with other YouTubers. So basically, I YouTube collab involves meeting up with similar, like minded creators and shooting videos such as challenges, vlogs, and story-times. YouTube collabs are EVERYTHING because you get to meet new people and shoot videos outside of your comfort zone. However, my boyfriend and I have yet to do a successful YouTube collaboration with any of the couples we have met who said they wanted to do a collab. The reality is that it’s hard to work with other people – our schedules are different, are visions are different, and sometimes, our personalities just don’t mesh. Oh well, perhaps in the future we will find the perfect couple to make videos and experiences with, but for now, it is a big fat NO for me.

5. REBRANDING/FINDING YOUR OWN NICHE – Once you fall down the rabbit hole of thinking you can make money fast, becoming a copy cat, offending people, and failed collaborations, you will have to reevaluate. It is almost laughable because I am at this same exact step with both of my YouTubes. For me, rebranding is basically finding your purpose as a creator. Was I born to display a mediocre, lower resolution screenshotted version of myself, or are you meant to shake things up?! The choice is yours, but for me, I choose to produce revolutionary work. BIG CHANGES COMING SOON!!!!

BTW: If you’re thinking of starting a YouTube channel, please do it! It is one of the most fun, creative environments you can ever be a part of for free. I started out making YouTube videos on my phone, and may retreat back to my old ways soon. Just remember to be yourself, and don’t get lost following the trend.

This was my very first video ever posted on YouTube 8 months ago!!! I didn’t know everything, I didn’t have a camera, and I definitely did not have any support. What can I say? It’s better to start, fail, and improve then to waste all your time overthinking about how things may or may not work out.

From my joint channel Meet The Flamez, we decided to do a 24 hours Say Yes Challenge. Unfortunately, my Taurus boyfriend is so stubborn, he did everything with an attitude. That’s real love for you, having the balls to say no when you want to!!!
